As long as it takes me to get my gloves on and then we are off. I start mine before putting whatever gloves I'm wearing that day. If you are running the correct weight oil it will be in the passages easily by then if it is going to be.If it is cold enough to take longer, (ie artic conditions) you won't be riding anyway or should be using synthetics.
